Who are Awards aimed at?

Our IWFM Level 3, 4 and 5 Awards in Facilities Management are short courses that consits of two or three units depending on what options are taken. An award can provide a stepping stone to completing the certificate to develop your knowledge further at the same level or an award or certificate at a higher level. The Award gives you a succinct overview of the basic skills and knowledge needed at this level.

If you've not studied recently or found study difficult in the past. The awards consist of two or three units depending on which level you take and which options. The awards give a good overview of Faciliites Management.

Assessment by written assignment

All our Awards are assessed by written assignment. These are completed in your own time. An assignment requires around 3000-8000 words depending on the unit.

The Total Qualification Time for an award is 110-120 hours depending on the level. This could be completed by studying for around 7 hours a week for 17 weeks. The registration period for IWFM awards is two years.

IWFM Level 3 Award in Facilities Management

The IWFM Level 3 qualifications in facilities management are aimed at first-line manager or supervisor, including administrative staff and team leaders, in facilities management or for those who are new to the industry. They are designed to develop an understanding and knowledge of facilities management matters.

The IWFM Level 3 Award is 11 credits consisting of 2 mandatory units, Introduction to FM and Customer and Stakeholder relations in FM.

A Level 3 qualification is the equivalent to an A Level grades A to E, Access to higher education diploma, Advanced apprenticeship, Applied general, AS level, and an international Baccalureate diploma.

IWFM Level 4 Award in FM

The IWFM Level 4 qualifications in facilities management are aimed at operational management level, responsible for managing day-to-day operations either in-house or outsourced. It is also suitable for anyone aspiring to this roles who wants to stretch and develop knowledge and capability.

The IWFM Level 4 Award is a minimum of 12 credits consisting of 1 mandatory unit, Overview of FM, and 1 optional unit.

A Level 4 qualification is the equivalent to a Certificate of higher education (CertHE), Higher appreanticeship, and a Higher national certificate (HNC).

IWFM Level 5 Award in FM

The IWFM Level 5 qualifications provides skills needed to complete complex tasks and take on responsibility for planning and delivering solutions while developing your specialised knowledge of the profession. Ideal if you are at a middle or senior management level and responsible for more specialised and complex functions, or if you are aspiring to these roles and looking to stretch and develop.

The IWFM Level 5 Award is a minimum of 12 credits. 1 mandatory unit, Organisational and FM strategy, and 1 or 2 optional units.

Level 5 qualifications are an equivalent to a Diploma of higher education (DipHE), Foundation degree, and a Higher national diploma (HND).

Progression

After completing an award you can go on to complete the required units for the certificate, move up to the next level award or move up to the next level certificate.

All these progression options are studied online via distance learning with full tutor support and are assessed by written assignment.
