RLC Foundation Awards Dinner 2016

WO1 Lee Moore – Defence School of Transportation
Through sheer passion and professionalism he has revitalised the CPD process for the RLC Driver Communications Specialist Trade. There is now a viable, attractive and affordable route from NVQ Level 1 to degree level. He has established a highly successful partnership with the Institute of Telecomms Professionals and a number of training providers. Most notable is his superb work with the University of Lincoln to develop the bespoke BSc in Communications. This has been a remarkable feat by a truly outstanding Warrant Officer.

About The Foundation
Formed in April 2015 the RLC Foundation exists to promote
excellence among the soldiers and officers of the corps. It is
run by a civilian director (Alan Woods) supported by the
Business Support Manager (Chrissie Ross) and operates from the RLC Regimental Headquarters in Dettingen House, Deepcut, Surrey.
• Provides a focus for The RLC’s professional engagement with external logistics organisations from industry, academia, professional bodies and the professional media and facilitates engagement with them.
• Engages with professional organisations and academia to coordinate and expand existing Accreditation Certification and Educational Courses for the benefit of RLC soldiers and officers across all RLC Trades.
• Promotes exchanges of ideas, experiences and concepts between RLC soldiers and officers and the appropriate civilian/commercial organisations. • Provides a focus for the development of thought leadership of value to both military and civilian logisticians.
Method - RLC Foundation activities include:
• Sponsors, facilitates and organises events of interest to RLC soldiers and officers and civilian logistics organisations. These may be large seminars, smaller, ‘round-table’ events, demonstrations and visits. It will also include supporting external events with expert speakers.
